Richard Diebenkorn

I came across Richard Dieberkorn’s work some moths ago, I was instantly drawn by one of his paintings.

Why his work is interesting to me

The simplified composition, the visible changes in the saturation of colours, how the lanscape evolves onto the distance. All of this elements create a certaint attraction that invites you to enter the painting and the gaze follows the paviment until reaching the top of the small hill on the back. When looking at it, somehow, I feel the tension between the foregrund and background and the painting seems to bend across the street intersection on the top.

Other work that I find interesting

I am mostly interested in his landscape / cytiscape works. These are other paintings I’ve found on the Internet.
