My Statement
There is a presence, an entity that visits me unannounced and unexpectedly. It whispers to my eyes, telling them tales about visual artefacts containing life experiences, feelings, thoughts and imagination.
I stretch, carve, dig, and sculpt images to produce these artefacts.
Biography
Alejandro Escobar is a London-based multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersection of traditional fine art and digital technology. With over 18 years of experience, his practice integrates painting, sculpture, photogrammetry, 3D modeling, animation, virtual reality, and generative AI to challenge visual perception.
Originally from Colombia, Escobar holds a Master’s in Fine Art Digital from the University of the Arts London and has trained at institutions such as the Art Students League of New York and London Fine Art Studios. His work investigates the fluid boundaries between physical and digital realities, creating immersive, thought-provoking experiences.
Escobar has exhibited internationally, with solo and group shows in London, New York, and Medellín. His work has been featured at Tate Modern, the Colombian Consulate in London, and the Museum of Modern Art in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. In 2017, he was named Artist of the Year by ARTS SU at UAL.
Through an innovative approach, Escobar continues to push the limits of contemporary art, blending technology and traditional media to expand the possibilities of visual storytelling.
