This is the first piece of this series, I wanted to depict the view of a volcano in the middle of a jungle. I took an intuitive approach to creating the 3D composition by reacting to the elements in the scene.
About the Train Window Series
In this series, I use text-to-image AI tools to explore the modern experience of observing the landscape from the confines of a moving train. This series reflects our contemporary disconnection from nature, as our lives have become increasingly urbanized and distanced from natural environments. The paintings capture fleeting glimpses of the countryside, as seen through the glass panes of a train window, where nature appears both immediate and yet out of reach.
The skewed perspective used in these works challenges the traditional notion of the painting as a window into a static scene. The extruded landmarks are intended to work as anchors, points of entry for the viewer’s gaze and perhaps as pivot points for him/her to move around the painting and discover what lies on the other side.
